Ok guys iv been hunting and calling for several years and i am wanting to try something new can yall give me a run down on all the different style of cut down calls and what would be a good one to try for my first cut down call. Thanks
I'd also be interested to hear the differences in sound/operation between an Arkansas cut vs a Louisiana cut.. I've never gotten a definitive answer on that.
I highly recommend Bryce Decker's Black Monster. As to the different style of cuts I have both an Ar and La from Bryce. The Ar cut has a deeper raspier sound while the La is a little louder and is higher pitched. Don't know if that is the same for others but that's been my experience thus far.
I agree the AR is raspier. To hear the best sound files hit YouTube.
My thoughts.
Bryce's cut is raspy too to bottom and can handle as much air as you can push.
Vanlandingham's cut has more whine but is still raspy.
McCullough is in between and very smooth.
If anyone is interested I have a few cutdowns I would sell or trade. Both are less than a month since they were cut. I'm looking for an Elite freak or Committed Custom Calls Original or Throwbacks.
