Long story short, I have two SX2s that have been the biggest POS shotguns ever regardless of how well they are cleaned..

Last year I purchased the Sure Cycle kit and mag kit and put it in the 3 inch gun.. To my surprise they would not cycle even the hottest loads with the heavy spring and performed marginal in the field with the light spring..

So recently I decided to have the piston sealed at the recommendation of Jeff and the positive feedback of folks on here.. Upon receiving the gun back I installed the heavy spring expecting the worst, and much to my surprise bang bang bang everything I threw through it in the yard from 2 3/4 high brass lead to high speed steel..

So I hunted it four times this week with flawless performance.. Than today the weather struck, snow, rain, sleet and a disced field with rivers running through the layout blinds..

While my girlfriends M1 was a single shot and another buddies BPS was completely seized, The SX2 was shucking shells 20 feet with mud in the action.

I was gonna take this gun to failure with the upgrades, but with the conditions today I will clean it and be 100 percent certain of the reliability.

Clampdaddy , as you know I tried to shoot my Maxus with your sealed piston . I shot the Sucker with everything I could
get my hands on , some of the dirtiest junk loads on the market ( Wally World Feds and Cheap Estates ) and after better
than 500 rounds , the Maxus kept on working like a clock . I couldn't believe how Clean it was and so I would keep shooting
it . Findly , I had to break down and clean it , I thought , it can't go on like this forever ( maybe it can ) . I didn't want some-
one to think , I would abuse a Good Gun like this , but the sealed piston wouldn't let the gunk into the gun .

I can't wait to have a Sealed piston of my own !

I am curious as to wear you guys are saying its running cleaner, as in parts of the shotgun.. I saw in my research some note the mag tube exterior.. Cleaning yesterday my mag tube still had the ring of fouling, but in a different "pattern".. Did not have the "two eyes" that were dark with a ring of crud more or less a ring a crud that wiped easily.

Another area is the piston itself.. The inside has less build u.p

Because of the lighter colors, I notice it more on my Silver Hunter than on my Maxus. The inside of the receiver doesn't collect as much unburned powder, the polished bolt doesn't get that "smoked" look to it as soon, and everything under the forearm stays much cleaner. On my Maxus I have noticed that the black soot stains on the barrel camo above the vents was totally eliminated. My guns still get the two eyes of carbon on the tube but that's about it. The inside of the drive sleeves stay nice and clean now.
