Since this shotgun has a 10 ga barrel by definition and dimensions, has anyone reamed the 12 (?) ga chamber to 10 ga?
Some modifications may be required on the rest of the undercarriage and extractor but I was just wondering if anyone has made this mod and what were the results. Lost

Whats the diameter of the 835 barrel over the chamber? I measured that of my BPS10 (with paint) and it's 1.5". If the 835 barrel is thinner than that, I'd be very reluctant to try.

Remember, even if it's safe to enlarge the chamber to hold a 10ga. shell, you'd have to make a bunch of modifications to the action (shell stops, ejector, extractor, shell lifter, etc.), mag tube, barrel hanger, etc. to feed and eject a 10ga.shell from the 835". That may not be possible or feasible.

Have you tried to drop a 10ga. shell through the ejection port? Buying a used BPS10 would be cheaper and less hassle.

The early production BPS 12 ga 3.5" were built on the 10 ga frame and the parts for the 10ga frame converted to 12 ga are listed on the Browning website parts book so you are right it would be cheaper and do-able with the 10 BPS. But the barrels were 12 ga so to get a 10 ga bore barrel with a 12 ga chamber one would need a chamber changer.
With the Mossy, to convert the other way, ie from 12 to 10 would require a ream job and again some parts if in fact they are available which I doubt but my original post was to see if anyone had in fact tried this conversion
