I got an old winchester 1300 and one year while turkey hunting it sort of jammed after i shot it. When I shot it and tried to pump it for another shot it was very hard to pump. All i had my mind onewas killing the turkey with the next shot (I missed the with the first shot) and stupid old me slammed it on the ground to pump it (with the butt pad on theground and i held the the forend part of the stock to pump it). When I did that something broke. I kind of fixed it. I can pump it all day long when im just pumping the gun but when I shot it it is hard to pump again. Does anyone know what could cause this?

You might want to give the action and Chamber a REAL GOOD cleaning, It sounds like the fired round is sticking in the chamber and caused your initial problem. what did you break and how did you "kind of" fix it?

I got two of them. When it broke I looked at the other one and put it back together the way the other on was. Then i pumped it and thought I fixed it, until I shot it again. When I got home right after it broke I took the barrel off and the whole chamber came out of the gun. It just when I shoot it it is very hard to pump, once you get it to pump you can shoot again. The more high powerad shells you shot in it the harder it is to pump.

How can the "whole chamber come out of the gun"? Do you mean the bolt?
It sounds like something is broken or missing in the bolt assembly or reciever that is causing the bolt head to lock into the barrel assembly. Do not shoot this gun until someone competent looks at it.

The 1300's were called "speed pumps" because when working correctly they will almost eject the spent shell without any input from the shooter. You will have to open it the last bit and then close it of course. When the bolt came out with the barrel it was because you forced the slide open the bolt stayed locked in the chamber and the slide rails released from the bolt. first off if they release from the bolt then there is some tolerance issues in your frame, slide rails or bolt carrier. or you put a LOT of force behind it. you may have damaged any of the above parts in doing this and it should be checked by a gun smith. the last thing you need is the bolt and carrier moving when the slide is locked forward. It still sounds like your initial issue was the fired round siezed in the chamber and would not allow the bolt to unlock and extract it. How did you get the jammed round out of the gun?

use a drill, short cleaning rod and brass 12ga brush and scrub out the chamber with it and some bore cleaner, I bet you get a lot of crud out of it.

BUT STILL HAVE IT LOOKED AT Just to be safe.

I have a Model 1200 Winchester that after about 20 years of hard use developed the same problem that you described.

What had happened to my gun was that the chamber is threaded into the barrel and the bolt rotates to lock into the chamber. The threaded chamber was slipping and rotating with the bolt rather than unlocking.

I had a gunsmith attempt a repair. He applied lock-tite to the threads and reassembled the gun. After two or three target rounds being fired, the problem resurfaced.

I ended up contacting Winchester and they replaced the barrel with a 1300 barrel at no cost to me.

I do not know if Winchester is in a position to replace such a barrel any more.

If your problem is the same, you may be able to affect a repair by removing the barrel, unscrewing the chamber, cleaning the threads and applying a strong metal adhesive such as JB Weld.

I hope that this helps.
