I have a 2 year old chocolate lab and she retrieves great if she sees the bird go down. i want to train her on hand signals. but, is 2 years too old to try to train her?
She's still plenty young to take to hand signals. In my opinion you can train a dog at any age if you have the patience to try and change a dog that is set in its ways. Training a dog when they are older is just like trying to get older people to change their minds about things. It may be tougher, but it can be done with patience and time. You should have no problems though with a 2 year old.
Too old??? No way. A two year old dog is prime for training. It sounds like the dog has the basics, so see what you can do.
