I'm looking at a new gun case, and I wanted yalls opinions on gun cases. I like the Avery, MPW, and The Rig Em Right gun cases. I have never held one if them before, and so I need yalls thoughts.

I have a Final approach edge case. its a pretty good case and I like the full zipper design over the slide in and flap cases for ease or drying and it has a pocket inside as well as goose flag storage. never had to test the floating ability of it, and I hope I dont but it feels sturdy and I think it could float a 9+lb gun.

Only thing I've had to do to it was unstitch the large white and red Final Approach logo off the side.

But honestly a case is a case as far as I'm concerned, pick one that is of the style you like, fits your gun, your needs of a case, and price point.

I tend to agree.
I used a cotton duck Cabela's case for many years. I wore holes in it (from sliding it in and out of the wooden gun box in my truck) and finally, this year, replaced it. Got an Avery floating gun case from my wife for Christmas and I like it so far.

20 bucks on a Plano hard gun case. Love it and it was cheap
cant fold one of those up to fit under the seat of your layout blind.
Not with that attitude

I like the hard cases, sure they're a pain to have around, but to me it beats having a soaked spongy gun case. But then again most of my hunting is over water and in muddy, water filled duck boats.

wasnt meant to be rude, hard cases have their place. I LOVE my hard case when I take guns to the range, I want a pelican hard case for my bolt .308. But I'd rather have a soft bendy case for waterfowl hunting as I can fold up the case and hide it some where.
None taken mah dude

Sometimes the front corners of a vent rib can be pretty sharp and rip hell out of the inside of gun cases. I've had a couple of guns that did this in the past.

I've had a rogers one now for three seasons there cheapest one with one opening on the end that you slide gun in. It is around 15 or 20 I paid 15 when I got it and no problems with it as of yet. The only thing is the buckle for the flap opening broke when it got slammed in a truck door my fault. I just put a caribeaner on in place of it. The inside has held up well to sliding my gun in and out tons of times over the course of the past three years. Probably gonna buy another one of there full opening quick dry ones for my saiga 12 at 25 bucks they are cheapest full opening ones I have found and I've been satisfied with each piece of rogers gear I have. Decoy bags, gun case, lay out mat and whatever else I may have from there.

I have had my drake cases for three years now and haven't seen this.
So I was wondering why it happened to apex.
As I was putting my gun away the other day I realized how tight the drake case is , and I like that,
But because of that I always squeeze in on the top and bottom to make the opening bigger so the barrel doesn't rub hard all the way down
I had not even noticed I was doing that , but having a mechanical back ground I was always taught if something doesn't go smooth and easy don't force it so I automatically started doing this.
There is a Velcro strip that would allow you to adjust the interior clearance for your gun.
Sense I like my guns not to slide around in the case I never used it.
Also apex they make a patch tape for textiles like moms iron on to the knees of their kids jeans I would patch the inside of my case with that and then insert the gun more carefully.
