Don't get me wrong; Ruger builds quality stuff. I won't bore you with the list of Rugers I own, but I have not been happy with the Red Labels. I wouldn't have another one. They are OK if you are really looking for the cheapest o/u you can get that is actually worth owning. I have had 3. I have one now; my friend shot one of my Brownings and now I have his to sell. I had one 26" 12 that the stock cracked. Swapped that one for a 30" sporting clays. That started double firing and I sent it back for repairs. Came back and after a while it started doing it again. Had a 28" 20 with ejector problems. Sold them all and went to Brownings and Berettas.

Love the Beretta 12's and the browning small ga. Stuff. A browning small ga. Lighting citori is about the nices gun for the price you can get. Nice balance and feel. Tight fitting gun, none of that falling open Ruger stuff. Rugers are also very heavy and a little front heavy compared to the Brownings and Berettas.

With that said Ruger stands behind Behind their stuff and I am sure that it would work out for you. I know a lot of people the have them and like them, but most of them have never had anything else so they don't know what they are missing.

We just bought my freind one for his wedding present, nice huh, he's used it all season and loves it, I was thinking about buying one also, we were going to get a berretta but the barrell selector is crap compared to the rugers, and all the other brands of guns that we opened felt like a very poorly machined opening lever, they all felt like they were grinding when you pushed them open, and rugers are made in the usa, personaly I like the red label better than most other o.u. that I've shot at least there the best in that price range.

As long as the quality is better than their handguns, desk paper weights. :salude:
Ever see a police officer with a Ruger on his hip? There's a reason for that.
