LaRedneck,
Yea, I've been out every weekend since breakup. Rainbow fishing has been fair to good and pretty consistent. The timing is whats wierd this year. Seems like everything was and is two weeks late. We've had a cold spring. The water is very cold. Kings started showing up about a week ago in the lower Susitna drainage. I landed a 35 pounder on Sunday and a 15 pounder on Monday last week , but yesterday I got skunked. I'm not going out today. I'll work on the Honey-Do list at home. I've got a Lilac bush to plant for Laurie and preparations for the duck boat build. I don't think the King run is going to be very big this year, but we'll wait and see.

They said last year was a bad year, yeah there were times when I had to hunt for fish but i've still got fish in the freezer. But glad to hear your getting out. I'm probably going down to the russian fist thing when I get settled in. Can't wait to get back at it. I love fishing bout as much as duck hunting. Speaking of whats the plans for the boat. I hope the fuel prices don't keep me from hunting as much this year. Guess i'll be down at the airport flats a lot this year jump shooting.

The duck boat will be very small, very light, low profile. I drew it up myself. I'll show you the plans when you get back.
I bought one of those 10x20 Costo tents to unload all the junk that is stored in my shop so Ill have a place to build it. I'm still working on the sorting out, storing, and throwing away process of the junk. Probably start the build in July.
Fuel prices are a bummer. Used to cost me a total of about $50 for a days trip down to the Deshka for car and boat fuel and launch costs, now it's closer to $80. Seriously going to get in the way of the fun.
May just have to do the combat fishing at Montana Creek for my Kings this year. I've still got a close silver hole to access with the boat that won't cost me too much. Looking forward to that.

LOL, Ashley's makeing me have a big garage sale when I get home. Its our bet before I start hunting. She wants to park the car this year. The boat sounds a lot like Ray's, which i'm still embarassed to bring up, but its something cool to have around but it wasn't for me. Didn't have to right set up to carry it or paddleing way out in the middle of no where was a pain. A set up with a troling motor would have been cool. Hopfully I can meet up with someone that will let me out on there boat. Just mainly to see some new spots, split the bill and share some laughs. Hopefully old brett ain't to busy and we can all get together again.

Expolring man fuel is way to expensive to be exploring  and you know me i'm way to serious to be exploring. But no hopefully so buddy hopefully so. I know the kids would love to get out too if you don't mind. Probably would just take the oldest one.

Don't have a set date yet but hopefully early to mid July. I've got the life jackets covered, no problem. We'll get together once I get settled in and talk about what to bring. I'm pumped, can't wait to hook on and then eat'm. mmmmmmmm

LA Don't worry about that foamer, it still floats and works fine. And you are right about it needing something other than "armstrong" power. I am tinkering with the idea of a weedeater long tail. The new 4 stroke high torque trimmers are coming down in price these days, but only through the on-line sellers. Locally they only sell the small motors or the professional grade ones for mucho dollars.

Otter's duck boat will be kind of like my powered sneak boat but more of a one man thing.

For the past few years I have been doing a lot of hunting alone, but now I am thinking I need to start some cost sharing. With everyone having differing days off it will take more coordination than ever before. But we have a few months to sort things out.

LA, there were two civilian operators from the snow barn on our dump cleanup project this spring - Jeb and Gary. Gary was a nice guy, but Jeb is hard to take after a long day in the rain. I don't know if you work with these guys in the winter or not.

Ray glad to hear you got the boat back up and floating. That would be cool to attach some sort of motor. That thing would move then. I don' t work directly with the snow barn guys, I fix the equipment they break. But i'm over there all the time so i'll have to look them up once i'm back. I plan to take a lot of leave once I get back, i've got like 70 plus days saved up. So we will have to get something planned out.
