Sac Blinds?

Its been a few years since I've been lucky enough to hunt Sac, so I'm a little foggy on the blind situation out there. Are the Assigned Ponds just that, with an island similar to Delevan? Or is it basically all blinds out there? I drew a #41 Ressi and want to know my chances of getting a pit blind. I've been wanting to take my mom out and it would only be possible with a nice dry blind. Thanks guys

Yo; Great taking Mom out. So with saying that, do it right. Not a Sac blind. Spring for a outfitter that'll do it right, make it right for her. Or maybe the outffiters has a daily blind to rent.

Taking her out to a bottom tier blind, not fun.
Blackdog58 is right! Some of those blinds have been hunted by pigs. They may have the strong smell of urine, wroten food, and garbage. Every yeay a group of dedicated hunters cleans the blinds for their fellow hunters before the the season starts, but pigs still screw up some for the rest of us. If you do go bring a plastic bag and clean up your mess and what ever other garbage you find. Go with a outfiter if you can. I think it awsome that your mom wants to go. Good luck.

To answer the original post... With a #41, you could get a pit blind. There are 34 blinds and 9 assigned ponds, the rest is free roam. I've gotten blinds at Sac with with higher draws in the past. It all depends on who shows up, who's decideds to go where, etc. I think you should get a pit blind without a problem, IMO.

As for the cleanliness, some blinds can be pretty nasty.

Good to know, that's what I am really wondering is what the situation is like in the assigned ponds. It seems like some of those might be more preferable than some of the pit blinds. Location wise.

As far as the Outfitters go. My dad and I haven't had the best of luck as we are a bit hesitant to do that again. But its absolutely going to be a better experience. Depending on the weather, we may not take my mom.

You will get a pit blind with that number. The assigned ponds do have pit blinds in them also - your option on if you wanna hunt in the blind or a tule patch somewhere.

Go and enjoy the time with her. Lets us know how it works out

Good Luck
