Out in the swamp by 3:45, about an hr paddle (canoe loaded with deeks and long guns) in the no motor zone, time to set up the spread, set up poleseats in about 3.5 foot water depth or so. I'm stoked, countin down the hrs.

Got my woodies this am, no teal seen. It was great to be out there.
Sure is different from regular season. Sweated off about 4 lbs in my waders. And the skeeters were deafening.

No, I plan to get that done for regular season.
I did deck over the front of the boat though, needed to get that done first
in order to have something to attack the brackets to. For this weekend, I
just stuck the boat in the grass and covered it with fronds and waded.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to give it another go on Wednesday AM. I plan to
be sick for a half day - you're welcome to come. I'm pretty sure it's not contagious.

I wish I could. We will definitely get out there during regular season. Unfortunately Ryan is getting deployed and wont be able to hunt with us this season.

I dont know him but i wish him the best of luck and a safe return. Been there and done the whole afgahn thing its a never ending camping trip you dont wanna be on but they were making some pretty nice improvements to make it better living when i was there. I wouldnt imagine its as rough now but still no picnic ecspecially when you miss hunting season.
