Joe, you are not going to get a straight answer here. You just gotta put in the leg work. City hall can usually tell you who owns what fields. If not buy a plat book it will have the owners listed. If you are serious about this it shouldn't take long to find the owners. Most guys on here have worked too hard to just give up a name to you. If you can travel find some public places to hunt.you will still run into guys that think they own public land but that's another thread. If you have any questions you can PM me. I don't live by you but I can tell you what has worked for me.

No need there is always a quiet place all to yourself to shoot ducks on the river. Put your leg work in. Instead of waitin on the computer for an answer put gas in ur boat tank and put miles on it. That is how its done. Not being a dick but as previously stated...we work too hard to just give it all up to someone we dont know from the internet. I wish ya the best. Put the work in and you will be fine.

ive lived on the river since i was 3 it always seems like i have to deal with some idiot out there you know. i know the river and all that im just tired of getting out there at 1 just to find a damn spot. trust me i put work in since i was 14 on this river. i never had a boat until i was about 21 and i would still rather walk in.

for the belleville thing i am just wanting a field or a farm pond. so i dont have to drive soo far before work and not have to worry if my spot is taken lol thats all really

Take a drive around the country that you want to hunt and start knocking on doors asking for permission. I dont like doing it either, but thats what ya gotta do.

They should open River King to duck hunting. They could easily put some blinds up and do a draw like Pyramid or Mermet and still leave the other half as a refuge. From what I heard from a CO it will never happen because of politics.
I used to live in the Belleville area and other than Horseshoe and the Kask. there isn't much up there. There used to be a club in the Freebug area, but I never checked into it. They used to put an ad in the Belleville news paper.

I feel ya on this one. Went out on the Chain O Lakes last weekend to see some new water and boy what a bunch of crap that turned out to be. I got out there before any other boats and was greeted by a jerk telling me he has hunted the chain for 40 years and we were not welcome. I called a DNR officer just to see if he was not bull****ting but according to the DNR, he was. By telling me to get away from his spot there was not much they could do. However, there is something wrong when a DNR officer tells you that they know the guy and he has 8 complaints against him. I was impressed that they did come out and talk with the guy because the spot I found was 300-350 yards from him, and I saw the DNR boat come out and speak with him. I just figured I would do what everyone in the post suggested. I drove around and found a real nice area and I did have it all to myself. The point is that you will always have to deal with people on public waters. I have also met some real nice hunters out there as well. I also hunt The Fox River near Barrington, and that stretch should be getting pretty nice with the cold coming. I hope you find a place and your hunting becomes more enjoyable. I figure that I am getting close to affording a piece of ground and will hopefully have access to a field and some water for ducks and geese.
