I was thinking about hunting a dried field that normally holds water but hasnt this year, would me taking a brown tarp and cutting some slit into it and placing decoy in it with some weeds around it really work on brining some ducks to me?

I dont know much on this subject but I believe if you do it you should use a black tarp. Also I would do it after it rains. I believe that ducks look for flooded fields after it rains and if water magically appears in a field I dont know how the ducks would respond to it. Again though I dont really know much on this subject.

If you fly over a lake, pond, or flooded field. From far up it looks black.
The ocean is different and some lakes are blue or green but in general they look black. It you wrinkle the plastic it looks like waves. This technique is used for field hunting Canada geese and is called a "false pond".
I don't see why it wouldn't work on ducks.

Muddy water in a crop field looks brown and here on DHC we like to call it a PLOND.
