Hey yall. I moved to northeast iowa not too long ago. I am looking into pheasant hunting public land. I live in clinton and have no idea where would be a good spot. Any help would be appriciated.
Worst area in the state for pheasant. Public ground is a waste of time, you'll be better off watching a SD hunt on the T.V. I haven't seen a rooster in 3 years. Opening day was probably your only shot for public land.
Plan a couple trips to beckridge if you want to shoot some pheasants.
You should try Goose Lake WMA, especially after it freezes up the swamp solid. Also check out the DNR web page for the map of "where to hunt". There are a few public hunting sites in Clinton Co. Be careful during shotgun deer season on public land.... :smile:
