The state of Iowa has been thinking about raising the price of the state migratory fee this year. They have'nt decided on a exact increase, or when they are going to do it yet, but it sound's like it will be three dollar's. From what I understrand the three dollar's will go into some sort of fund, and sit for five year's to build interest, this money will then go towards matching federal grant money for land aquisition's (MORE DUCK HABITAT). Not sure of all the detail's yet will post more when I find out, or godwilling somebody else can  . I think this is a great idea for the state. Just think about it, three dollar's a pack of smoke's, cheaper thann a can of chew, cheaper than a 6 pack of beer, about the same cost as two pop's. I know there will be people out there that it will be like they got there teeth pulled out beacuase it went up three dollar's. All I say to that is, I have a family of five living on one income (pertty low at that) not on welfare, and I can spare three extra buck's for our waterfowl hunting future, and our kid's hunting future. I say raise it up to twenty buck's!!!!!!!!!!

Just heard some info on a proposal for a $3.00 pheasant stamp that is in the making's, this would be under the same guideline's as the state duck stamp increase, to match fund's from federal dollar's for habitat. Now this money would only go towards the purchase of land that could be used for public hunting. Also $1.00 of the $3.00 stamp would go for Buffer strip improvement on private agricultural land, the only catch that if the farmer's want to use these fund's the land that they use them on would have to be used for public hunting also. Don't know how many farmer's would go for this, I pray that this pass's, got to try and get some of the habitat back in Iowa, contact your local legislative rep and let them know how you feel about the improvement of our hunting, and it's future!!!
