Good luck to everyone who got out today. I was not able to go for various reasons but plan to hit it hard the rest of this week and next. As for today I guess I'll have to settle for a trip to BP to spend some money. :fingerhead:

Anybody else have Monday off for Armistice Day? Tuesday looks to be ducky too....then there's Wednesday, Thursday,.....
I love vacation leave!

Happy Huntin' All

I am off and my buddy has some free time, but we are not seeing a lot of action out west in Washington Co. Not hardly any waterfowl moving at all, that we are seeing.

I get the idea that we're in that twixt and tween state where the Summer locals have started to leave and the northern birds ain't here yet. Needs to be a bit colder longer to get them down. This front Tuesday may help some.

I'm off until the 26th. PM me if you want to come down to the lower upper Potomac. I generally go out of Riley's Lock or Edwards Ferry. Haven't had the chance to go recently due to work and other things gettin' in the way so don't have any first hand scouting reports.

Are you going out tomorrow? I hunt out of the same area, hoping the weather helps tomorrow.

Same here. We had a few large flocks of geese flying overhead before sunrise on Saturday, but the duck action was SLOW!! Not nearly as many flying as we saw a few weeks ago. Heading out on Thursday and Friday so hopefully some new birds will be in town by then.

The geese seem to be sitting at ponds and eating grass and not moving. Next week is likely to be just as bad.

There was a flock of 20 or so Canadians hanging out at the local swimclub this morning. They know where they're safe.

Going to hit it tomorrow morning. Inaugural 2012 outing.

Well it was a pretty sunrise....
Was at the ramp ready to go (on time too) just to wait. My partner in crime calls at about 0600 and says he has to bail on me and go into work. Since I try not to do the river alone I had to go with Plan C and went over to the impoundments at MB. Nothing happening there. At least I got out. That is something.

Hope others did better.

Three of us hit the river and saw 10 geese fly high past and only saw, maybe 7 ducks all morning. Only two presented for a shot and the 1st was too early. It sucks out there.

If the bird numbers were better I'd be really happy but you gotta go when you can. So...Ducks/Geese on the river tomorrow. Deer in Va Wednesday. Feast @ Mom's Thursday. D/G again on Friday and Deer once more on Saturday. Still having a good time and it beats raking leaves all to h**l.
