This is pretty much what guys are trying to say here lately, so let's just say it:

My name is "Insert name here", I saw this awesome show called Duck Dynasty this last year. I see these ******** killin ducks and it looks fun and easy. Anybody know of any good spots with lots of ducks and only a few hunters there? I think that's the place I need to be. Maybe you could take me to your spot? That would awesome, JACK! If you don't want to take me though, you could just tell me how to get there, where to set up, and what kind/type of decoys to use too. Just an idea of where the birds are and where you usually go would be great. Hope to see all of you out in the sticks and I can show you my bada$$ triple reed duck call I got from the almighty commander. Just a reminder, I want places that have tons of ducks and very little hunting pressure. :beer:

maybe i'm just not picking up on that with some of the posts/guys around here...you had folks blowing you up cliner on hunting spots, where to hunt, take me with you, etc?

perhaps a bigger discussion - is all the popularity that the 'duckmen' are bringing to the sport worth it?

:hijack:

to a certain degree i believe that we need "new blood" and the interest/passion that some bring to the table when it comes to hunting. i also believe that we don't need more yahoos out there with guns...maybe they come hand in hand when something as popular as Duck Dynasty comes around.

thoughts? sorry to hijack cliner :tongue:

No man, nothin against Duck Dynasty or their family. I love that they made it big time. I'm happy for em. It was a weak attempt at sarcasm for the internet scouters that always seem to surface around August/September. It's always the same thing: "Lookin for duck spots that aren't crowded with hunters that have tons of ducks, if anybody could point me in the right direction, it'd be great (ie: I'd be happy to steal your spot)". A lot of typing before thinking.

I'm all for new guys learning, but there's proper ways of going about it. A little research before getting online and spewing verbal diarrhea all over a forum would go a long way. Again, the thinking before one types scenario.

I'm happy for the duckmen too. If we all had a chance to do what they are doing right now, we would probably be doing it.

Sometimes i don't pick up the tone or jest of a post...i didn't think you were bashing the dynasty crew though.

On another note, where do you hunt and would you mind if i tagged along?!?! Ha ha ha!!!

:shock::lol::shock::lol:

Hello, my name is Bubba Leroy, and I joined your forum yesterday. I'm new to duck hunting, and Texas. Would like to get some pointers on gear, and ideas on where to go would be very helpful. I'm not a troll...I just don't want to put in the effort to go find ducks on my own. It's too much work to load the fishing poles up and scout out locations while catching fish.

Please note that I will gladly meet you opening morning and sit in the blind while you put out decoys. I'll also make sure to watch the birds for you and flare them off before you get a chance to shoot. I've also always wanted to shoot that lonely poor hen that lands in the decoys while you're trying to work that flock of 30 mallards overhead. And I promise that I won't mistake a gull as a duck, and shoot it before you get a chance to tell me not to shoot. Oh yea, almost forgot to tell you that I'm going to bring my buddy and his dog...do you have any extra ammo?

Like I said I'm new to the forum, but not the game. I'll tell you about all my spots if you take me to yours. Lol

This is a pretty cool forum, and what you posted is the truth...thanks!

No joke with everybody wanting everything easy. Last year we walked and scouted spots where it was 2 miles plus on the wma and killed ducks carrying 2 dozen deeks, waders, and all equipment. Of course everybody wanted to know. Took one buddy and said he would never be back. Also have those guys you have a good hunt then they come out of no where and wanna go hunt. Where the hell did you come from? Duck hunting is not easy and im glad because it weeds out the straight DD fans. Have one bad hunt and they are done.
