Hello,
I have recently picked up a lease on Oldmans Creek near 130 and i was curious if anyone could share their past experiences on the water there. Been hunting on the water for years, just not there. Any information would be great. Thanks

jmp - Where is Oldman's Creek? Sounds like the kind of place for me. Are you in So. Jersey or No. Jersey? I think you'll find all of us NJ DHC memebers pretty good fellows willing to help out. Hope to hear more from you.

Never hunted there but been out that way a few times. I met a guy that owns a big chunk of oldmans. Lots of tide draw so navigation can be tricky just like any other tidal creek that runs into the del. Oldmans is a large spring stopover for our atlantic flyway pintails. I am sure there are some around in the fall to chase as well. The marsh is a nice fertile freshwater marsh with a lot of rice in areas. That part of the state winters a large majority of our mallards too. But just about every piece of land, water and marsh is locked up out on that side of the state.

Pete Oldmans is past Mullica hill in Pedricktown. Way different than our side of the marsh...everything that looks ducky has a posted sign out there.

jmp, maybe you should have a duckhuntingchat.com party at your lease so all us unlucky ones can help you take care of the duck problem there

Just remember, you can have the best piece of marsh in the state, but if we dont have weather the birds wont use it. I'd hold on to that lease even if we have another crappy mild winter, because once we get some more normal winter weather you will be in 'em thick

Thanks everyone for the comments. I have hunted the tidal ditches of DElaware and boy they suck at times. I guess it is pure luck I stumbled across this from a guy at work who owns 5 acres on the ditch. Can't wait till I see the plot plan of the property. Like previously commented, always looking for company!
