Just go back from the 2006 NORTH DAKOTA trip. THe migration hasn't really started yet. we hunted near Medina ND most of the trip was smaller groups had one good great day on Wed 10-25 otherwise nothin big came through so far, not many puddle ducks but as many redheads, bluebills, and divers as you can imagine, suprising amounts of canvasbacks as well talked to game and fish rep who said most of the birds are still in canada, with the warm weather this week it could be another week or two.
Cold here, all small and medium waters froze. Large waters are TEEMING with ducks!
If you have a boat, you should do well. One calm night will end it all however. Forecasting lows in the teens through the weekend, and than a slight warming.
Just had some good buddys get back from the stump lake area with lots of pictures and video of ducks coming through the area. they watced and taped for 45 min of thousands of ducks coming in, pretty amazing sights. but they also said same thing only big water and some field hunting.
