Is anyone hunting here in PA?

I was out yesturday to a swamp I hunt. Froze over. Walked the Creek, didn't see anything.

Bumped into a Father and Son, the Dad said the Boy had gotten 2 shots off at some Mallards.

Will be going back out on Wed, Thurs, and Friday to a local Creek some of us hunt that Does Not Freeze over.

Hopeing to pull some Fat Mallards and some Geese into the Spread.
Need to add to the Breasts I have in the Freezer to make some Snack Sticks.

I hunt about three times a week. I have been seeing a increase in mallards, but not a huge increase and a ton of geese that seem to have moved on with this last front. Couldnt make my self get up for -14 so I will be back out tomorrow.

-14, DANG, Was only about 0 here this morning Ofcourse you are about 2 hours north of me, so it's going to be much colder.

See you came over from the huntingPA Site!

I'll be out for Ducks Wed and Thurseday, Had a Buddy call me last night, he found a Farm he would like to try for some Snows. Don't know if we will do any good. He only has about 150 siloutes and rags mixed. we are going to try that on Friday.

macdaddy,

You have to remember, when hunting those 2 Waterfowl Areas run by the PGC here in PA, you need to wait them birds out and let them get close!

Those birds KNOW were the blinds are. You have to be ready for the less educated birds that fly into the blind!

Keep at it, Apply next year for a blind and if you don't get one, head for a No Show!

Once you get the hang of hunting these 2 areas, you'll know what to do to MESS with those Educated Birds and will be able to knock em dead!

Don't let this time get to ya!

I live and hunt up in the Poconos which is normally about 8-10 degrees colder. I was out driving today and didnt see nearly as many waterfown moving as I did yesterday. I WILL be out tomorrow morning though!!!!! I thought I recognized the "swamps of PA"---- Also I only have siloutes when I hunt canadas and I have been pulling them in with no problem at all!! They are all magnum size though. (a spread of about 80) I will post tomorrow when I get back to let you know how I did

Sorry I thought you had mistaken me for someone else with that you might have had problems with on the PA hunting sight. I just moved here from florida so this was my first year deer hunting. I havent been reading all the debate about the AR and Gary Alt.

That was my last day to duck hunt as I leave for NC tomorrow for christmas, but I will definitly keep everyone updated on the goose hunting.
