So im borrn and raised in colorado, and am an avid hunter. I hunt mule deer and elk with my recurve but my work is going to be moving me to the orangeburg area. What do you guys hunt around there other than waterfowl. I like duck hunting but that is deffitnaly not my strenkth. Iv heard there are wild hogs out there but that is baised on nothing really. Any info would be much apriceated thanks again. (im not trying to pry spots or anything like that just get an idea on what and or what not to expect)
Ya im pretty bummed about the elk but looking forward to learning a new style of hunting. Thanks for the info now its just time to learn all the new regulations and season dates.
I've hunted in and around the Orangeburg area for years. There are great turkeys, deer, dove, and wild hogs. The turkey is average and your only alotted 5 tags per season through DNR. The deer hunting is exceptional for here during the rut, early season is ok; and the majority of SC hunters harvest around 5 antlerless deer a season. Dove huntiing is ok not the greatest in the world. And of course there is waterfowl hunting which in the right areas is great well great for SC. Hope this helps and good luck with your hunting. WELCOME TO SOUTH CAROLINA.
