I live about 10 minutes away from the north end of the lake, near stubblefield. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck hunting?

Hey Wooodduckhunter. I haven't hunted the lake this year but had decent success last year averaging 3 birds and 1 limit. I was possibly going Saturday morning to check it out before my buddy gets here next week as he wants to get a nice WoodDuck hen to mount with his Drake. If your interested in meeting me Saturday morning (TOMORROW) give me a call at 713-252-2745. My experience is that there alwys seem to be plenty of woodies and you just get lucky once in a while and have some widgeon, mallard, or gadwall fly in.

Dont you have to have some kind of Tx permit to hunt certain parts of the Lake? Heard of some guys getting an ugly surprise visit from the GW's up there without it.

I guess the lake level is still decent to hunt?

(Russ, careful with all that personal info on there...might wind up with some free memberships to gay porn sites...courtesy of your 'buddies')

You do have to have your APH ($45) plus license and stamps. Have you looked at the lake to see how low it is? I might change my mind if it's too low.

Thanks for reminding me about too much info. As you can see I edited it. I thhought I was sending a PM.
