I am not a diver hunter even though I live near Houston. I mainly hunt puddle ducks so now I'm have a problem.

I go on a hunt up in Oklahoma every year for a week with my friends but this year has a twist. The foundation I work with on duck and goose hunts has asked me and a buddy to take a few guys on a diver hunt the last day we are up there.

If anyone has diver decoys for sale please let me know. All I know is what I've been told and there are goldeneyes, bluebills, ringnecks, and maybe red heads. But me and my buddy are just guessing. The only for sure divers we know are there are goldeneyes.

So if anyone can help me out, please let me know.

Thanks.

Find you some cheap old mallards and throw some black and white paint.

The Redheads, Bluebills, and Ringnecks will all decoy into Mallard decoys. Not sure about the Goldeneyes, but I'm sure you're fine with Mallard decoys. Good luck and post pics!!

Edited to add that I noticed Gander Mountain had some cheap Bluebill decoys at the 290/1960 store the other day. Sold them by the single decoy for some reason - not sure if a package was returned or what - but they all looked brand new. If you're concerned about having Diver decoys - maybe buy 4-6 and put them out at the "fringe" of your Mallards. Again, good luck!

Those painted decoys look good but I don't have time to do that this time. I'm leaving in less than a week. Thanks for the post and I'll try and run by gander and check them out.

If it all goes well ill post more pics. We have been having good luck withy the vets on our hunts. So let's hope it holds out for us next week. I'm heading out Saturday to go north again for the week. Gonna scout Sunday before church then start hunting Monday.

Wish us luck!!!!
