Hey guys,

I am heading up to Morrisville area in July on bidness. Was hoping to do some fly feeshin'. Any recommendations on areas and flies. Or better yet a good fly shop nearby?

Also, any "must see" things in the area?

thanks!

I wouldn't know how the fly fishing is but the Green River Reservoir is right there and has so good fishing. You would need a canoe or paddle boat though. No motors allowed on the reservoir. That's all that I know of in the area. You wouldn't be far from Lake Champlain either don't know how much time you have.

If you are going up rte 100 from interstate 89, you will go by a fly fishing shop in
moscow on the right, just south of stowe. these guys are real knowledgeable and can guide you if you wish.
the lamoille river is a good bet if you want to go it alone. good luck.
as for must see stuff, lake champlain, or a gondola ride at one of the ski areas, we've done mad river and it was awesome.

What are you looking to do
,dry fly ,steamers, maybe some nymphing, alright here are my choices, quill gordon, light cahill,(parachute),stonefly nymph(we have hatches all year, size 8.10.12),hendricks(grey if you can find one also 10,12),and if you are fishing deep pools run with an olive green woollybugger, gold bead head, weighted if you can find them,or black bead heads, prince nymphs work well also with a bead head, brass,if you tye your own,put alittle crystalflash in the bodies and tails of the woollybuggers, helps alot!Evenings and early mornings are the best time to hit the rivers,4 wt rod is all you need,6.5,7ft should handle most any river and steam in Vermont!Hope this helps,I have not fished up there except on the Lakes and clyde river, but that is farther north!

thanks guys

well the fishing was no good until our last day (thur) we hit a small mountain stream in a state park and got some wild rainbow and brookies, pumkinseed, smallmouth, and black bullhead

beautiful state you have with A LOT OF WATER. I saw tons of spots that looked promising for ducks
