Anyone have any tips on finding ducks after you've downed'em. I'm making great shots...kill shots, but can't seem to find them after they're down!!! :help: I've been hunting some tight cover over shallow water, but tell me, is this normal???? I hate leavin' em for the the ***** and foxes. Please help me!!!!!! The ones that fall in the water aren't a problem, but when they hit the tall weeds and bank, its almost no deal. :fingerhead:

I just try to get a good mark and go straight to them, do not take you eye off the mark. If they are cripple and can walk, it will be tough. Do not get greedy trying to take another while you are going for that mark, you may lose both. If you get there and cannot find it, do a grid or circle search spreading out from the mark, it works most of the time.

If you had a dog, that would be best, but I do not, just got to keep a good mark or have a buddy mark and you retrieve.

In my experience a circle search has worked much better. Only lost 1 bird during the first segment.
