That is WAY COOL!!! I'd love to see more studies lake that. I sent that link to my wife who is a 7th grade science teacher. She's going to incorperate that into some of her lessons.
The AGFC had the satellite tracking on the mallards during last season as well. There have been 3 or 4 ducks shot with the transmitters on them. I think one was shot in Arkansas last week.
The birds were trapped and released in Arkansas. I watched it during the summer and saw them migrate north and then back down again this year. Pretty neat stuff. You can read more info. about it on the AGFC site.
