Hey everyone Im going to attempt to make some duck jerky today, but my question is how do I know when the jerky is done?
I am going to be making it in the oven at about 175. So are there any simple tips out there?

If you have the funds I would suggest a dehydrator. They work awesome and are relatively cheap and have instructions on how long to make a variety of things.
I have made goose jerky in the oven before and I actually liked how it turned out better than the dehydrator. BUT a dehydrator is so much easier. As far as telling when its done, well...when it looks like jerky its done I guess? Take a piece and tear it. If it feels soft, then keep them in there. I guess you can, but its not like you can over cook jerky very easily.
It also depends on how you are going to store it. If you really dry it it will last without refrigeration, but it's dry. If you want it still moist you can pull it out whenever and keep it in the fridge.
