Hello guys, I just bought a sneak boat this weekend. What I am looking to do is add some more floation to it. there is foam in the bow. What I am wanting to know If there is anyone out there knows where I can aquire some hard styrofoam like the kind in a kayak in large then foot sections to cut down to fill in the gunwales of the the boat. My logic is with more floation I can get it registered and licenesed thru the state to put power under it. Email or pm me anything you guys might have or place to aquire.

suskiedrake,

You may have already thought of this, after you have found the foam, its cut and in place. What I have found that works in my layouts, to keep the foam in place and to take away all noise. Is that spray foam that you use around doors and windows.

Don't buy the max, but min expansion, and test it out first. A good friend of mine had the bright idea of filling his plastic decoys with the max expansion foam, the decoys split in half. I laugh so hard I was crying, he wasn't he was PO big time.

Can you register it commercial like the mud motor boats etc? Dont know where you are but that may be a consideration if you just want to register it.

Hey Chessieboy

Definitely we can hook up this season I just came inside and after seeing about 200 honker float right over my new house which convently borders my favorite goose field no less. I am hoping to get everything situated in the next 182 days because after Sept 1 its going to have to wait til after march.

I drove past the spot I told you about last season, the other morning and the field was full of resident honkers. I havent been out on the river yet this year the house was for sure a fixer upper.

The snakes at the fish commisson gave me the run around today on the sneak boat. I laid foam matting in the floor today and and foamed the gunwales with the type that the contractors use on comercial buldings. I planning on back filling with spray foam . Also I built a seat filled with floataion foam. I am hoping I can at least get a 4hp on it I hunt most mornings alone and it will be a sweet rig when completed. Running the big bot is a pain in butt alone for a two hour hunt or less.

Get in touch with me over the summer or whenever I have the first week of the early goose season fullwith my crew but I think the second week I am solo your more than welcome to hunt with me.

ok one thing you can do is to get this foam spray called "tuff stuff". you spray it and it puffs up, it works real good. we used it in our fishing boat, it is 14ft long and about 12 inches deep and it will now hold over 500 pounds, but then it is over the water line and about to sink. so pm me for more information.

Thanks to all I am happy to report that it rides like a dream and is making its debut on Sept 1st . I gotit registered with a whole three hp not what I was looking for ,so I put a 4stroke yamaha 2.5hp to it and it gets the job done thanks again for all the tips.
