We'll I have finally made the conversation over to short reed calls from a flute and it only took 4 years. But now I'm completely addicted to everything about goose calling. I sit in class listening to other people calling just to get ideas of how to string stuff together. Anyone else got the goose calling fever right now?

I've been hit with the fever for a while now. I just got a new call and have discovered that I can do right much with it. Not trying to hit the stage or anything like that, just trying to sound more like a goose. I listen to a good bit of sound files and such to try to get that goose rytheme in head so I can transfer it to the call. That's the hard part for me.

It never ends. Once you get the rhythm, you just keep
on practicing that.
You can put it to use in the field, while seeing how the
Birds react or don't. Knowing how to read the birds will dictate
What your next move should be.
Won't be long long now before we get to hit the field!!

ive had the fever for a couple years now. calling has always been my favorite part of goose hunting. I caught the trading bug and went through countless different calls. I have always been a strictly meat caller but a few of my buddies have talked me into competing later this month actually. who knows how itll go, just gunna have fun with it and see what happens!
