Hey guess, I was wondering how many fullbodies you could haul in a short bed truck (05chevyextcab) I have it planned out to where I'm going to buy 6 fullbodies a month with bags and I'm mainly buying lesser decoys because that's what we shoot around here, so if all goes as planned ill have 54 fb come November, sometimes it's just me and my gf who go on a hunt other times I have friends or my brother come, I also have 60 shells already just looking to make up a more realistic spread.. I won't always take shells but late season when #'s come into play I'd like to haul as many decoys as possible and after I do have 54 fb I wasn't planning on stopping I was just saying opening morning of goose season I'd have 54, so maybe some silos? Just to bulk up spread and put the best shells mixed it and put all the fbs in the killhole and by the blinds?

I put in a dozen mallrd fullbodies bagged then 6 bigfoot b2's bagged then two dozen shells and another dozen full size bigfoots plus two layout blinds then swing by my buddies and pick up his gear plus another dozen shells and dozen b2's and 6 mallard full bodies and we go. Guns and mojos in the back seat. We could probably still fit more if we tried. The trick is a lot of straps. Next year I'm planning to put racks above the cab to strap down another decoy bag or somthing on top for the longer trips when taking two trucks is expensive. With an extended cab your beds probly nine inches longer than mine though too. My last truck was an extended cab with I believe a 6.5' bed and i could fit two layouts and 18 bigfoots unbagged, no straps, no problem. That's all standing up though. If your not worried about dirty heads lay em down and you can probly fit twice as many.

I drive a Toyota Tacoma and i can fit 36 fullbodies and my layout as well as a jet sled( depending on if i can drive in the field or not) in the back of my truck. I have the decoys in 6 slot bags sitting on top of my layout. I think i could put another dozon on top but i haven't tried. I secure everything down with a bungee net that hooks to all four cornors of the truckbed. I think if you need to bring in everyting you got for your spread because the geese are that pressured you should look into some type of trailor.

I bought a cap for my truck specificly so i could haul more decoys. I got a 96 chevy ext cab, and guessing i can haul around 40-50 filled to the max. i know 36 easily cause i leave room for gear bags and guns and other stuff. i dont bag mine so each time i pack em in there, i find room where i could fit a few more..not a good thing..

Might want to look at a cargo net if you want to max out on capacity, get one for a full sized (long) PU truckto get max load (stuffing) if you do not want to buy a cap for your truck. They work great at keeping decoys in place and protected and can stack them higher then the side of the bed with a net. Mac had one for a reasonable price when I got mine.
