shells and silos. FB are not a necessity. If buying new, my rule of thumb was not to spend over 20 each on a FB and not to spend over 10 each on shells. Its tough to do, but those kida deels can be had. Used, I like to be around 15 each for a FB depending on condition, and shells is kinda up in the air. Got all my stuff off craigslist and ebay. some new, most used.
If I had it to do all over again, I would go with more silos and add FB's in latter. V boards are a great way to add bulk and visability to your spread and still keep the transport-ability.....is that a word....fairly simple.

I started out with silo's and added to them as I went now I run 10 doz silos in the early season and switch up to other deks later in the season. Buy what you can afford and dont be afraid to do some painting in the off season or make your own decoys either. i took worn out silos and painted them all black and white and they really stand out in harvested wheat.Be patient and look for sales from various outdoor suppliers.

You can build your own silhouettes just search the site for posts. I think it was B Gibson on this site had 3D silhouettes he made that were pretty unique. Go to the Do it yourself forum on this site and look up the Tar paper Silhouettes. They are tar paper duck shells. Make some bigger ones for geese.
