Hybrid or color phase?

Postby sneaky » Sat Oct 27, 2012 9:41 pm

I'm not a very experienced waterfowler, so i should i'd let you guys clarify. Shot this guy today, A buddy said its just a drake mallard in color phase. But the head looks so much like widgen. Just wanted to verify its just a color phase mallard.

Thanks guys. I bet there's a thread for this, but i honestly didn't take the time to look. @honesty

Yep young drake.

I know you're new, but I'm curious to see what made you think the head looked like a widgeon. The shape?
