Jerk Rig Problem

Postby QuackYak » Sun Jan 06, 2013 7:17 pm

I've been running a regular jerk rig and a feeder jerk rig in my favorite spot. Problem is theres tons of vegitation in between me and the deeks. I've tried to shove the string down in the veg. but you have to pull the string really hard to get movement and it often jams up. Any Ideas? :help:

Just run the string over the vegitation.

If the string material your using is not that noticeable i would say it is fine to leave it over the vegetation. I used the nylon on my first jerk string and it broke.

that's all I ever use. I use 2 and hook 3-6 decoys to each line. Makes all the motion I ever want.

I just use braided decoy line. Lasted 2 seasons so far. I use decoy depth adjusters hooked to the line to adjust the distance between the deeks on the line. Then I just hook a clip to the depth adjuster that can be hooked to the holes in the keel. Anything will work. Longline clips, dog leash clips, snap swivels, ect.

You can get the premise ones for 15-20 bucks and they work the best and wrap up into a little 6inch bag they come with...
