hey guys i just joined the site a few days ago. I live on the ohio river close to louisville ky. I am building a blind for my 1860 in a week or so. And will be buying 2 dozen mallard decoys. I am not very good at calling yet and have been practicing all year. This is my first year going without people that go all the time. What kind of tips would you give a guy that is new and hunting the river and cant call worth a darn? lol

p.s i have been all over the website looking at stuff and have learned alot.

Never hunted it but your best bet is too just go out and hunt. In my mind you can't learn how to hunt on an online forum. You can get ideas tho and this is one!

I have hunted it one time near Proctorville OH. Be real careful with those barges on the river. One good thing about the barges is they keep the birds up and moving.
