I've never got one before. I have seen one though. I was watching a field full of ducks and there was one that stood out. I looked at it a little harder and realized it was a blonde hen. I wish I could get one. I saw em kill one on take em 6.
Ok I've got one for ya. I've seen a Mallard drake with a splochy green and blond head, no white ring around the base of the neck and a light BLUE colored mottled bill! He was with a regular Mallard hen and another regular Mallard drake -hen pair. Any guesses? My buddy thats a taxi. has a black duck-mallard mix mounted in his shop. I'll get photos and post them for you. It was shot here in SW Missouri. I'll also try and get some photos of the above mentioned drake, he returns to a trout hatchery area every year with the hen.
