Duck Hunting Fern Ridge Lake - Eugene, OR

Postby DaylonH. » Tue Nov 19, 2013 11:52 pm

Hi folks,

I am up in the Corvallis area and have been hunting the willamette for some time now. I am wanting to get down Fern Ridge Lake and do some duck hunting there this season. I have a 14' aluminum boat with a little outboard and am curious if it is doable to motor around out there, or if I even need a boat to access the duck hunting spots around the lake? I have heard that the lake is pretty full of stumps, which is why I ask. I am looking forward to hearing back. Thanks!

You can forget lanching a boat in FR lake its just a big mud hole this time of year cause they drain it down each year for flood control.

:welcome: yeah there was no rain this year. it never got deep, it only got half filled. A Jon boat may work if you like dragging it through the mud.
