Anyone used a Mick Lacy call?

Postby 98ramtough » Mon Oct 18, 2004 10:58 am

Anyone ever used a Mick Lacy call? They have some descent priced Acrylic calls. I have never heard one, but am looking for a loud call for open water with about 4 dozen decoys.

Thanks,

Mike

I've heard of Mick Lacey (big river game calls) but not McLacey. I too am in the market for an affordable acrylic so please let me know what you find out.

Mick Lacey

I currently use a Mick Lacy as my Lay down call, I use it for close in situations when the sheer volume may be too much to spook, It is a sweety of a call easy to blow and a nice gritty tone. It is one of the better cheap calls you can find with a bit of volume. The problem I have found was that it tends to crack when you are on a hard comeback or hail, I really recommend the RNT original for loud, blast there eardrums out calling, you can definantly reach out and touch em with it.

Yep, did it for giggles and grins. Go out of class and drove by a sporting good store on the way home. Stopped in a blew on every duck call they had. I was really impressed with the call. I think I might by one of the really cheap duck calls. It blew well and was only 22.99. All of those calls that I tried sounded good.

My hunting partner and his nephew, who hunts with us also, are related to this guy. He has given both of them several custom calls. Sounds like a real nice guy and I know his calls are sweet. He had Big River and they told me he bought back part of it recently.
