olt vs dj calls

Postby EXTREMA » Wed Jan 04, 2006 7:03 pm

p.s. olt stopped making calls but the same guy who made the calls for olt opened his own company dj calls. i was wondering if anyone uses them and if they sound the same as the olt double reed?

you will be happy with all of Dave's Calls. There is a reason he is the only call maker available in 17 different countries

Yes he is the same guy, he is the 3rd Generation Call Maker. It is all he knows, take a look at his website www.djcalls.com
I have used these calls forever, hunting in the southwest to my place in the midwest. I have been buying Daves collection sets as he produces them. He only does the first hundred of the new models, so you have to keep and eye out on the website.

i own 3 olt dr-115 double reeds. i've used the same one for 15-20 years now and it has a slight crack at the tip of the blowing side. it holds up to any weather and i never had to break the others out yet. i also have never replaced the reed. i bought buck gardener, big guys best, duck commander, flextone, primos, haydels, iverson ($175),stratavarious ($150) and many more. i bought two of each of these other calls over a 20 year period and i don't use any of them. the strat and iverson sound like a tin can but they cost the most. the rest were okay but they still squeel when wet and don't sound ducky. thanks for the website.

I have a Sonderman 66 from DJ which replaced the old Olt 66. i've blown both and really can't tell a difference between them.

Swamp Puppy I have a couple of 66, great call. FYI Dave Sonderman is the other call maker for Illinois River Valley Calls.
