Love the carving Brad! For those of you who haven't seen Brad's carved calls, he does beautiful work. Here is one I have in my collection made from green hedge and ivory.

Thanks seeduk! Added quite a few since then. There are a few guys on here that put that to shame...especially with some old Rich n Tones.

Thought i'd bring back some life to this thread. Picked this purdy thing up. The owner stated the insert was the new style but it measures the same as my other OSDC inserts

Seems like if it was an older style it would have scroll work?

Ya that would be correct, two owners back the original scroll insert was lost. This one was made to replace it and then sold to the guy I just bought it from (hopefully that makes sense). I asked the guy I bought it from, if he knew when the insert was made but he doesn't know. Any help would be great, I'm no expert on the OSDC's but the insert even externally looks different then my new style DC inserts. I can post pics if people want. Thanks

I saw the insert thats in the call. It deff looked like a new one to me. Unless someone sanded the hell out of it.

First off, sweet call

Second, seller was very clear about it being a new insert... no reason to believe different IMHO .... I would not have bought it for $140 , but that's me... she is purdy

Cat, you are correct. he stated straight up in his ad and when i spoke with him that it was a new style replaced insert. As soon as i got the call i thought otherwise and messaged him and he said that he thought it might of been an old style insert but didnt feel comfortable enough to advertise or share with folks while selling because there was no scroll work on the insert. What could I do to find out if it is/isn't an old style? Would rather not send it down to RNT but i might have to. Thanks guys.

Unless he specified that he didn't want engraving on the insert then I would say with almost certainty that it's a new style.

Will RNT still engrave the scroll work on the insert if you ask them?
