I would definitely know that what I was getting was authentic before spending that kind of money on a collectors item. That's an expensive lesson

Who wants to take bets on someone paying $350 for another $$150 call?

I'm at a loss. I really don't know what to think anymore. From what I've been told the seller says that this price of $350 comes from the fact that its like an err'd baseball card. That's what drives the price up. Unreal...

Logic has officially been thrown out the window on these calls. RNT should do a production run of new old style daisy cutters

So quick summary,

1) eBay Seller #1 posts up this call, and was deceiving... no doubt there

2) Buyer #1 gets call from Seller #1.

3) Buyer #1 tosses out a shiny lure baited with rareness due to no date staped on insert claiming value similiar to a misprint on a baseball card :fingerhead:

4) Buyer #2 hammers the bait, fish on

5) Buyer #2 is now Seller #2 on eBay. He's noted very clearly it's not an OSDC. He's retained the same bait presented to him by Seller #1.

Hope that clears up some of y'alls corn'fusion :welcome:

Truth is buyer 2 traded it to a 3rd buyer. 3rd buyer is the one listing it on Ebay again.

To address this call & to those of you who might think its me who has it for sale on eBay right now:

(1). It is NOT me selling it on eBay. I live in Texas, the seller is from California. I'm not from the west coast. So it's not me.

(2). I acquired this call from a buddy of mine who paid $350 for it from the ebay seller "burnem89". He showed it to me after the fact...I told him what it was. He got pissed & didn't want it. I gave him a new DC & a little $$ to help ease the pain...and he gave me the call.

(3). I posted it on the Facebook page "Call Collector" just to show folks & get some good laughs...b/c I knew the history of the call. I received a flood of PM's asking me if they could buy it or trade for it. So, I then put it on "Call Trader", which I had no intention of doing originally.

(4). So now with it on "call trader", the PM's asking about it went thru the roof. I responded to EVERY SINGLE ONE the same way. I stated that this was NOT an OSDC, the scroll was upside down & there was no date on the insert. I stated that this was or could be an error by RNT b/c the remakes of OSDC's have the date stamped on the insert. I also told people that I had offers ranging from $150 up to $350-$400. I said this call might be worth something one day due to the errors, but calls are only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for them. I even took a screen shot of the original eBay page where it sold & sent it to most people who asked about it.

(5). I ended up trading it to a guy from CA (the person selling on eBay now...and they WILL remain anonymous in regards to me stating their name). In trade, I received an older mallard green Lares A5 & $100 in exchange for this call. That person knew EXACTLY what they were getting & stated they wanted to do the trade simply b/c they had never seen one that color & had never seen one with the scroll upside down & not date stamped.

(6). The deal between me & the current owner was done on Thurs, July 11...& I shipped it to him on Friday, July 12.

(7). To any of you that might question my character about this, I hope this clears it up for you. I'm not some young kid trying to screw people. I'm a 36 year old man who has been blessed enough to have a good job & income that allows me to spend more money than I should on collectible duck calls. I have a wife & 3 daughters. I tell my kids the same thing my dad always told me, "You have one reputation. If you ruin it by being dishonest or doing the wrong things, that's it. You can't get it back".

(8). And lastly, if any of you still question me or my intentions, here's my name & contact info. I'm more than willing to clear up any remaining questions you might have.

I fail to see how the upside down engraving could be viewed as an err, or how it could make it rare. Anyone can order that. Per the engraver he may have made dozens like that when it was switched over. He doesn't remember because only people on the interwebs make a big deal out of this crap.
