Moving up in the call world........

Postby Sharkman » Tue Aug 27, 2013 3:00 pm

Hey guys,
I want to get a better call sometime soon and need advice on a call. My top 3 brand choices in no particular order would be Zink, RNT and Echo. I know some of you guys use RNT's and they seem like good calls especially the DC Diablo, Mondo, Daisy Slayer, MVP etc. I have also heard really good things about Zink especially the new ATM Green Machine and Echo especially the DRT and the XLT. I want everyone who runs these calls opinions on the calls including the good and the bad.
Cheers,
Eddie

I have a Zink Green Machine and love it. Easy to blow, sounds ducky, and pretty easy to get a good feeding call out of it.

Out of the RNT's you have listed I have ran the Mondo,MVP,DS very good calls.
Zink NBG ran the best for me out of the new line up of duck calls they put out recently.
Echo,XLT is hard to beat out of the Echo line up,strong call with excellent range.

I was recently in the same situation as you.. Bought an rnt short barrel. Made the transition from cheap double reed to single reed in all of about 5 mins. Short barrel is extremely easy to blow and has pretty good range.. For what it's worth I'd recommend it.

Same here. It's a great call. Easy to run, nice deep tone, a nice nasaly sound to it. Really ducky. Just wish they weren't so ugly. Another call that I'm really liking right now is my Doc Hull DD-1. Can't decide which one I like better.

Hey guys,
I realized that you probably can't help me narrow down my search if you don't know which calls I use or what I sound like. I use an Echo DR Poly Timber and a Buck Gardner Baby Buck Duck in Diamond Wood and poly. I practice a lot using the soundfiles provided on each website. I sound almost exactly like the Echo soundfile but I still need to work on the feed call. I don't know how to upload a soundfile so I will have to search for something that sounds like my Gardner call.
Cheers,
Eddie
