MVP Help

Postby dso190 » Mon Sep 09, 2013 4:55 pm

I picked up a slightly used MVP and having trouble getting a good consistent tone. Seems to want to "break" on me. Sort of like a teenager going through puberty, ya know? Call doesn't seem that loud to me either. About the same volume as my Pure Meat. Now I'm not placing total blame on the call. I'm no contest caller but was wondering if the reed was the proper length. I did replace the cork and that seemed to help some. Anyone tweaked there's any and prefer a certain reed length? Thanks in advance.

Best advice I or probably anyone could give you in the situation is call the shop. Talk to Mr.Butch, John, or Jim. They'll be able to get you set up for sure.
