RNT vs. Zink

Postby OnTheFly7 » Wed Oct 16, 2013 10:16 am

Stirring the pot here, but not trying to!

I am curious as to what the majority has to say about these two manufacturers, as a whole. Not one call versus another, but the entire line up of calls (duck and goose), the people, the customer service etc.

These are two very popular companies that produce some great products! I have heard nothing but good about one and mostly good about the other!

Looking forward to the responses.

I think Rnt wins in the Duck, people, and customer service department. Just got off the phone with Jimbo himself asking some questions about my mondo. However i think zink makes a better goose call.

There mellow, easy to blow, comfortable (the new ones are), and they are high pitched.

I was too busy hating the flared inserts on the couple I've tried to bother with tuning and learning to like something about them. Just too many good sounding goose calls out there to fool with one that feels bad in hand.

Only Zink duck call I've owned, a XR-2 wasn't much fun to run, but would sound "just like a duck". Never had a CS issue with Zink.

Most here probably know me as a RNT duck call guy. My favorites aren't their most popular calls, but across the board RNT duck calls have just been a good "fit" for me. I have had CS dealings with RNT and have no complaints there, to the contrary.

Ran RNT speck calls as long as they've been out, but my last one may be getting the bump this year, and the exterior design of their current Canada calls just isn't for me. Their old discontinued Dirty Bird was my favorite.

I'm not anywhere close to a rnt guy. And rnt wins this debate easily. Zinks are average calls in my opinion.

Im kinda thinking more that they just dont sound like a goose. IDK everybody has their opinions but like Rick said theirs a lot of better calls on the market.

Ford vs Chevy, 9mm vs .45, chili with beans or no beans....

Both with get the job done I'm sure, but it's personal opinion. I wouldn't consider myself a "fanboy" of a certain brand of calls. I feel it's what works best for YOU!!! That why I thinks there are so many calls on the market. If a certain call is the best, then there wouldn't be much of a market for other calls.

In these two brands it's real simple, rnt for duck and Zink for goose. Unless ofcourse your rockin the rnt Kelly powers goose call. But that was only because Tim grounds helped with that call.

i have always been RNT 100%. they have great sounding, durable duck calls and thats what i have always blown. however, zink is way underrated in my opinion. i just got a ph-2 the other day and that thing is pure duck.. they both make great calls that both will kill ducks. its really hard for me to choose one over the other now. but zink makes the best goose calls on the market no doubt.

In my opinion zinks are just average. Their goose calls might a be a little above average but that's it. They are nothing special in any way.
