Wondering about Lares

Postby tnhunter42 » Wed Oct 16, 2013 5:35 pm

I have a Ducklander QT right now and an old Olt I use occasionally. I'm looking for a call to complement my QT for the water that I hunt (small back waters, ponds, and large river channels). I've been looking at Lares but can't decide between an A5 or a Hybrid. Can anybody help me in picking out the differences?

I'm wondering why you don't use the search function.

Me too. I'm also wondering why you are asking this question at basically the start of season? Most people get a new call and PRACTICE before the season actually starts. Me...not brilliant, I do have drive and common sense though.

Get the Hybrid. It can get as quiet as you need it to. It can get as loud as any other acrylic you'd hunt. It can get louder than some comp call models. Great call. Pick one up and enjoy.

Bud my season doesn't start for about a month and a half. I've also been hunting for a quite a few years so I think I'll be alright with more than a month to practice on it. Thanks for all of your concern though. Obviously the best thing you could find to do was offer destructive criticism when all I did was ask a simple question. It's sad to think that this great forum has to be marred by a few bad eggs like yourself. Have fun blowing spit bubbles you incompetent, simple minded idiot.

Go with the hybrid, but the t-1 is also nice. There basically the same call w/ different barrels. Cant go wrong with a lares. call old joe and talk with him.

Well since you want to go with the name calling you window licking crayon eater, I just did a search and found 138 pages of comments dealing with Lares. I made a simple comment to your simple question and you got butt hurt. Good luck with your Hybrid, mouth breather.

I prefer the cold frosty windows cleaned with Windex and my crayon of choice is a Crayola Mac & Cheese color....I also was born with a deviated septum, so yes I guess I am technically a mouth breather.....

I hope you like the hybrid. It can certainly produce great duck sounds with practice. I love mine.

On a side note, this thread is hilarious.

Another Lares to consider is the T1, and for me preferably the smallbore. It is not a T for 'Timber' like most timber calls I've blown as the T1 can get loud.

Just ordered a T1. Takes it a while to get overseas though. I am so freaking anxious to get my hands on it and see what its like!

If the T1 can get loud as well, then what is the difference between it and the Hybrid? Is it just the smaller bore size or what? I've got a small bore Ducklander QT that I love, but I'm wanting something louder for some of the bigger water that I hunt. You guys think the T1 can fit that? Cause I love a small bore, especially if it gets loud.

Same insert, different barrel --> Hybrid vs T1 Regular Bore
