Edited, but honesty. I hum a little for a super deep hen, it's clean air just has a tiny bit of voice in it

I make a noise when blowing, but it's not a grunt. Very hard to explain really.

World champion duck callers are like Champion Trap n Sleet guys who can't kill a duck. Tim Bradley can't hit a duck...
That's why we can't agree.

I know it sounds awful to a human judge...but ducks ain't human.
Here is another world championship trophy...

Yea, contest callers can't kill ducks

3 guys, No duck decoys, picking out green with two mistakes. That world champion calling sounded so bad a greenhead actually dive bombed the blind trying to knock the call out of my mouth  and the gopro caught it all

You just talking about your throat popping when you blow a call? When I push air up from my diaphragm it'll making kind of a popping noise from my throat at the very beginning of each note. Nothing I would call grunting or humming though.

This may be what I meant all along, its almost like a small pop noise yes, whenever I start a note. I also add slight buzz for deeper notes, not all the time. Guess I haven't been doing it wrong all these years, which is reassuring.

I have an old Rnt original that I always liked the sound of but of course it stuck like a b!tch with very little calling.....was bored today in the office so I took a dremel tool and cut "lares" style grooves and shaved the side of the toneboard like Doc Calls does and I swear I called on that thing all day and it NEVER stuck once...even fillrd it with water and it still ran. Just an observation

Water doesnt have the viscosity of spit. There is no comparison to spit and water.

I hope that was a joke about contest callers cant kill ducks lol. If they cant shoot that is one thing. But if they can do all that with a call they can do the simple calling techniques.
