restoring old dixie mallard

i have a seventies model dixie mallard,bought it new in 1976, have not used it in years, can i use rnt reed kit and cork to restore it so i can use it now, what would make it sing like it used to

get the echo reed kit if it's wood. They sound prettty amazing

Some of those old DM calls had an extra narrow cork slot. RNT & Echo reeds won't fit those. If you get some RNT or Echo reeds, compare them to the original. If they differ by much, don't try to force the new reeds into the slot. You'll break it and ruin the call.
