I have one of these and they seem to be a favorite of some good callers. Anyone know what the big deal is?

Yes, I think they wood does make them warm and realistic, they are also much more constricted on bore size at the outlet compared to modern plastic calls, most of them anyway.

Yes..true. It being a double reed and it's tone board design...really doesn't allow it to be a very loud call.
The exhaust hole is smaller then some of my calls..but the same size as many...and many of those calls call ring.

Pretty good sound. I think it has a place, but this year I did a lot better on more raspy calls. It may be good for smart birds that are sick of the more common now raspy calls.
