BSOD Cutdowns

Postby Josh Carlisle » Wed Dec 11, 2013 5:40 pm

I've blown the colt 45 and I like the way it sounds it has a good raspy quack but takes a lot of air to get that raspy quack (I KNOW CUTDOWNS USUALLY TAKE ALOT OF AIR WELL THATS WHAT I HEAR) but is the BSOD original easier to blow or what? which one of the two do yall prefer?

The 45 is alot easier to blow than the original or at least blows more similar to a regular call. Try trimming the reed a sliver at a time, a little goes a long ways. As carpenters say it's easier to cut more off than to try to make it longer. As you shorten the reed it will run more like a regular call.
