Lares reed lengths

Postby Huntfish12 » Thu Jan 23, 2014 7:26 pm

Just acquired a lares hybrid from a guy on here and the spare reeds that it came with are all the same length. 1.340. 4 of them total. Im not sure if this should go in the classifieds section, but was wondering if anyone would wanna trade some reeds for the simple cost of a stamp. And is it normal to get all the same length?

Just use scissors, unless you want longer reeds.

Most buy a reed pack to find the length that works them, then buy a few of that length that fits them best, most likely what the guy before you done.

Lares reeds are shorter then most AR style reeds , so if you have a few old reeds or an old call with a longer reed in it us that.
Just make sure you just cut a "C" hair at a time.

1.340 is pretty darn light on those. Don't know your style but I would imagine you would be a little more successful with a longer reed. I don't dog ear mine near as much as the factory setting. Sometimes when they come from Lares, those things are teeth rattling raspy. I would suggest getting several reeds and mess around with em.
