Wood calls vs. acrylic calls

Postby Jade7 » Wed Jan 29, 2014 7:56 pm

I'm in the market to buy a new duck call but I'm having a hard time deciding on wood or acrylic I hunt both small ponds and fields in Canada any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. The wood call I'm looking at is a double reed made of cocobolo, the acrylic call is also a double reed. Thanks

Went through this dilemma last year and always preferred wood. Through trial and error with acrylic calls, I found the RNT short barrel and RNT timber hawg good for medium and low calling. If I had to choose one it would be the short barrel. Hope this helps.

It's really just up to personal preference.

I find myself reaching for my wood calls more than my acrylic. But that's a personal preference as they both sound good enough.

I thought about getting him to sign my cleavage, but decided against it at the last moment.
