audio files of you calling ducks

Postby shrpshtr » Sun Mar 06, 2005 10:39 pm

hey all,

i am gonna change pace with the polls a bit. what does everyone think about having their calling ability critiqued on-line? i personally don't mind criticism. to me, it only helps. i was thinking about recording some of my calling (as it progresses) and setting up a link on here to get some feedback. (my wife is tired of telling me whether or not i sound like a duck). i have my own web server and wouldn't mind hosting the files for others, if needed. anyone else up to being judged by their peers?

Sounds like a great Idea! I'd love to compare myself to others, as well as get some hints.

good idea.
This site is about having some fun, learning, helping others, and enjoying the commaradre' of other waterfowl hunters. And if you do not like those 4 things, then do not let the door hit you on the way out of here.

that would be sweet. Please try it and let us know when it would be available. For those who don't know, you could do this very simply with sound recorder that most all computers have.

Just another note, if you are planning on recording but don't have a microphone....you can usually get away with using a cheap set of headphones. One of the ears (I think the left) usually is able to be used as such.

it seems like we have enough interest to get started. anyone who wants to participate just email me a .wav or other audio file. you can email them to rafowler@sc.rr.com. let's hear what you all have got.

nope. i haven't received any yet. but i had some problems with my laptop the other day. try and resend. i am really surprised at all of the positive repsonses i had to this idea and have yet to receive the first recording. maybe this is why...i hope anyway.

if you haven't yet, send in some. if you have, resend them. i haven't received any yet.

thanks.

My calling sounds horrible to most men. I am not ashamed to post but what I do in the woods is different from what I do on a sound recorder.
" Never show up as a guest on a hunt with your dog. Never take the best shooting spot. Leave the call in your pocket. Never ask to come back. Keep your mouth shut after the hunt. Always bring gifts. "
